EDGERTON ART SCHOOL
In the traditional studio-style teaching of the masters, award-winning artist Monica Edgerton-Sperry has opened Edgerton Art studio and school in Perrysburg, Ohio. Here, students receive instruction in beginning through advanced drawing and painting classes. The studio and school are a welcome community resource for adults and high school students who seek personalized art instruction in smaller classes without the pressure of working for grades. Having her studio in the next room from the teaching space means students can witness her at work. “I talk about how to develop an idea, but here they can see the process,” she says.

Edgerton-Sperry is a seasoned professional artist who holds a BFA in Drawing and Painting from California State University – Fullerton and an MFA in Painting from Bowling Green State University. She has many years of experience teaching in local venues including the Toledo Museum of Art, the University of Toledo, BGSU, and Lourdes College.

Ten-week courses are offered for Fall, Winter and Spring. Students choose from 2, 3 or 4 hour classes one day per week. Private lessons are also available.

Students are provided with easels and individual work tables, lockers and an art resource library is available. A creative still life display, which changes regularly, allows students to either use this for their ideas or they can bring their own subject materials. Students provide their own art supplies from a recommended supply list supplied by Edgerton-Sperry.
